Saturdays are for fashion and beauty talk and to also showcase some style inspiration from my fashion page. I love fashion mainly because it is a way you portray your identity. Fashion isn’t just clothing, it is more robust than that. From my research, fashion is complex and rooted in culture.
Fashion is how you choose to portray your identity to others, clothing is an aspect of it. What you wear tells about who you are. People will always perceive you first, from your appearance and it is always good to portray yourself right.
I’ll be using Saturdays to discuss fashion, beauty tips and routines, how to pick colors that suit your skin, the best perfumes to wear. Stay tuned, all topics will captivate you. We aim to redefine the concept of motherhood and add color to it. People believe that until a woman becomes a celebrity only then can she look in certain ways, it’s a myth. You can be a beautiful, colorful everyday woman for yourself.
What do you think about yellow on a dark skinned person? Yellow for me is not just a term to reflect an English word for color. Apart from the blend on a brown skin, it is bright and study shows that YELLOW is the color of sunshine, hope, and happiness with conflicting associations. On one hand, yellow stands for freshness, happiness, positivity, clarity, energy, optimism, enlightenment, remembrance, intellect, honor, loyalty, and joy, but, it is seen to represent cowardice and deceit. A dull or dingy yellow may represent caution, sickness, and jealousy. As much as it has numerous good sides, it also has its own disadvantage.
Research show that the meaning of the color yellow can be warmth, cheerfulness, increased mental activity, increased muscle energy. The color yellow helps activate the memory, encourage communication, enhance vision, build confidence, and stimulate the nervous system.
When I see the color Yellow, the positive meaning resonates with me, I love bananas especially the very ripe yellowy ones (*smile). According to Bourncreative, Bright yellow is an attention getting color, and when used in combination with black, it is one of the easiest color combinations to read and see from long distances. If you are dark skinned like me, sometimes you need a bit of color flattery on your skin. If you know what I mean.
